The diary of the youthful Linnaeus´ journey to Lapland in the summer of 1732, Iter Lapponicum, stands out as a monumental opus in his extensive scholarly and scientific deeds.
Now, the Royal Skytte Society has completed its publication of an annotated edition of Iter Lapponicum in three volumes.
Volume I reproduces Linnaeus´ text in its entirety as it appears in his diary manuscript of 1732. For the first time in one collection and in their original size, his own sketches from the journey are reproduced. Transcribed from the original manuscript by Algot Hellbom, Sigurd Fries and Roger Jacobsson. 220 pages. With summary in English.
Volume II contains indexes and commentary by Ingvar Berg, Dan Bäcklund, Phebe Fjellström, Ingegerd Fries, Sigurd Fries, J. E. Jarvis, Bengt Jonsell and Tryggve Sköld. Published by Ingegerd Fries and Sigurd Fries, edited by Roger Jacobsson. 534 pages. With summary in English.
Volume III is a facsimilie edition of the diary manuscript of 1732. This is the first time it has been published in its entirety. Four-colour printing. Published and featuring an introduction by Roger Jacobsson and Sigurd Fries. 182 pages. With summary in English.
